A Boy And His Dog

Was there ever a feeling we had? A feeling like were devoid everything but feel a hole gaping ever wider the more you feel astray. There is also a sensation to which we feel, a desire we adorn for so long and yet we still feel empty when were alone. Was it a calling? Is it just an awakening? A feeling we have when we are by ourselves and were feeling inside both human and animal within?

A child or rather a boy was longing around his backyard playing a game of catch, a game where he threw the ball so vast like it was a game of baseball, it always smacked against the aged wooden fence. There was apathy growing inside, emotionless and a sense of isolation. His parents had always led him to sophisticated lessons without ever applauding or ever providing. It seemed dull working and empty feeling with no point.

He always threw the ball against the same battered fence that it dented so much it would break and splinter. He was so quiet without ever speaking a word with his voice except through gesture. His eyes always looked affixed like a string of thread snapped and his only ever presentation was still devoid. Never a sound or any eye contact.

Plagued with Apathy, the boy’s parents wagered in their tasks seeing dismay upon them was like they were cursed. Having ever limit time to spend the childhood moments with their boy they could regret in their will to ever give a sense of compassion.

The boy’s casual daytime would be to throw and throw again. only this time the ball itself got caught. Clenched like it was caught by a firm grip with four legs. It ran over and back to drop the ball wagging in anticipation. A Black dog the size of a half pint. It was a young puppy, joyful as a bell. The parents signed their hard work away using the limited money they gained.

Skittish at first like something new to discover, loneliness faded away like snow. Witnessing emotion again, the devoid feeling vanished. Boy and dog best friends Together, A man’s best friend.
